This is a poster I designed for my Advanced Typography and Layout class. The theme was "Banned Book Week" and we were required to choose a book that had been banned by a school, school district, etc., and make a poster about it that stood out, drew people's attention, and encompassed why the book was banned and why it shouldn't be banned. No elements were allowed, meaning we couldn't use vector art or images only typography. Also, our color palette was assigned to us.

I chose the English Dictionary since it was banned by a California school district for having the words "Oral sex" in it. I decided this was not only hilarious and ridiculous but also an amazing opportunity for a poster that would indeed stand out.

Artist Statement
I am 24 years old and I was born and raised in Peru. When I was 17 I moved to the U.S. to pursue a degree in business, and while I do like everything business, especially marketing, I have always had a passion for art, design, and visual storytelling. Therefore, I recently began my graphic design journey by going back to school and enrolling in SLCC for a graphic design degree.

With a blend of creativity and strategic thinking, I specialize in branding, illustration, print, and editorial design, bringing a unique perspective to every project.
