A journey of unexpected growth during COVID-19, zine
This project was the culmination of an entire semester's worth of effort in our course, and it served as the ultimate test of our creative abilities. Our mission was clear: craft a story that somehow circled into our experiences with the pandemic, and shape the narrative and theme as we see fit.
This assignment was designed with a set of guidelines to put our typography skills to the test. Among the critical criteria we had to adhere to were the inclusion of illustrated characters, captions, headlines, subheads, headers/siders/footers, careful consideration of size, and meticulous attention to the amount of copy.
Making this Zine was a complete challenge, but I am so very proud of the final product. In it, the story of the most complex year of my life and all the good things that came out of it.
Artist Statement
I am 24 years old and I was born and raised in Peru. When I was 17 I moved to the U.S. to pursue a degree in business, and while I do like everything business, especially marketing, I have always had a passion for art, design, and visual storytelling. Therefore, I recently began my graphic design journey by going back to school and enrolling in SLCC for a graphic design degree.
With a blend of creativity and strategic thinking, I specialize in branding, illustration, print, and editorial design, bringing a unique perspective to every project.
