Artist Statement
Listen, I just want to try it. Whatever idea has my mind entirely occupied, I must make it into or out of something tangible. Glue, paste, hinges, connectors, thread, words, graphics and color are all added and replaced and twisted and embellished- simply while staring at a blank page, or a scrap piece of material. The sheer amount of possibilities makes my mind seem endless, as well as endlessly excited. Anything. Anything at all. Anything can lead to something far greater than it started out as. Anything can become an idea that keeps you up at night researching. Any single thing has enough potential to create entire worlds and backstory enriched with meaning and feeling. And everything has this power to become anything.
